A declaratory resolution from these two societies approving or disapproving of the award, or of your publication of the case, or of some other feature would doubtless be influential, and would be an encouragement or discouragement to the professional witnesses on either side. It is manifest that if those who gave one class of evidence acted honourably, the other class could not have done likewise; and whichever was in the wrong should have the fact impressed upon them with all the definition the state of the law allows.--Yours truly, X. We are, however, of opinion that an obstacle to the reform of abuses, is the retirement of individual opinion behind the cover of a "society."
